The short answer: Craigslist took its Personals section offline in 2018, and no single site replaced it. In Kentucky, personal ads now live mostly on Reddit boards for the whole state and for Lexington, and also on classified sites such as Doublelist and in text-first apps including AseeksB. Craigslist still runs missed connections, but Louisville’s and Lexington’s are nearly empty. We checked the boards and the missed connections on October 15, 2026.
Louisville still searches for personals. “louisville personals” gets about 1,300 Google searches a month, about ten times as many as “detroit personals” or “st louis personals” (Google Keyword Planner, October 2026). The personals themselves have moved, though: on October 15, 2026, Craigslist’s Louisville missed connections board had 2 posts going back three months, and Kentucky’s busiest Reddit boards cover the whole state.
Lexington, about 75 miles east, searches for Doublelist about as much as Louisville: “doublelist lexington ky” gets about 3,600 searches a month, up 83%, against about 2,900 for “doublelist louisville” and 1,900 for “doublelist louisville ky.” So this page goes place by place.

“doublelist louisville” gets about 2,900 searches a month, up 52% on last year, with 4,400 in September and about 1,900 more for “doublelist louisville ky,” up 230%. “doublelist lexington ky” gets about 3,600, up 83%, and Bowling Green about 170 (Google Keyword Planner, October 2026). Anyone can see Doublelist’s ad titles, but reading a full ad needs an account. Posting is free for up to 3 posts, and seeing members’ photos takes a paid plan; its help center lists two, Hookup and Hardcore, at $45 and $90 a year. Its pages open with a paid pop-up and carry sponsored links to outside sites; on October 11, 2026, one of them, “Hookup Finder,” led to a page that Chrome blocked as dangerous.
We no longer count its ads place by place, because the pattern has been consistent: in most of the cities we’ve checked, escort ads were among its 20 newest ads. Our Boston and New England page has the most recent counts, from October 12, 2026.

Kentucky’s busiest boards cover the whole state, and Lexington has two of its own. The numbers below are Reddit’s own, from October 15, 2026.
r/kentucky_hookups, created in 2022, has about 79,400 members, 13,000 weekly visitors, and 1,600 weekly contributions. Every post needs a recent full-body photo, though you can blur or crop your face; you can post once a day; and even a link to a content site in your profile gets you removed. r/KYSwingers, created in 2020, is busier still, with about 73,800 members, 30,000 weekly visitors, and 2,200 weekly contributions, for people in the swinging lifestyle and Kentucky’s clubs and parties; singles looking for “vanilla sex” are pointed elsewhere. We found no r4r board just for Louisville, so most people there post on the statewide boards above. The one local board we found is for threesomes, with about 8,900 members, 4,800 weekly visitors, and 1,100 weekly contributions.
Lexington has two boards. r/LexingtonKY_hookup, created in May 2026, already has about 21,400 members, 2,100 weekly visitors, and 211 weekly contributions; it bans OnlyFans promoters and treats anyone posting in cities 50 or more miles apart as a bot. An older Lexington board has about 12,400 members, 5,200 weekly visitors, and 992 weekly contributions.
Craigslist still runs missed connections in Kentucky, under Community, but they are nearly empty: on October 15, 2026, Louisville’s board had 2 posts going back three months, and Lexington’s 3, 1 of them really an ad. “louisville missed connections” gets about 70 searches a month (Google Keyword Planner, October 2026). That is a snapshot from one day, not a measure of the whole site.

Beyond the apps. “louisville speed dating” gets about 590 searches a month. Kentucky’s personal ads are much older than Craigslist, and some of the replies survive. In January 1907, Lillie Rasdall, 21, of Bowling Green, answered a personal ad from S. E. Mantz, 28, of Webster, Iowa, who was looking for a companion to share his home. Her letter is now in Western Kentucky University’s Manuscripts & Folklife Archives:

Read about the lettersShe offered to exchange photographs and added, “I am a Kentucky girl can do [any] kind of house work.” The letter didn’t lead to marriage: she died the next year, and he was still a bachelor at 61, the archive wrote in 2016. The same archive holds a reply to Lucy Boucher of Settle, Kentucky, from a 52-year-old Missouri widower who signed himself John. “You are all I should be looking for,” he wrote, and he did “not want a cent of the money my future wife shall have.” She stayed single all her life. Kentucky’s busiest boards cover the whole state, and Lexington is about 75 miles from Louisville by road. Every AseeksB post shows how far away it was posted, and anyone can search by distance.
