The Detroit Times printed this on its front page, in its last edition of the day, inside a story headlined “WANT A HUSBAND? HERE’S A CHANCE.” The story named him as William Henry Tappen, “Young and Shy, Anxious To Take ‘Stunning Bride’ Back To Farm,” and said he had visited the Times office himself. It was a news story built around his notice, not a paid ad. For where people in Detroit and Michigan post personal ads now, see our guide to personal ads in Detroit and Michigan.
Public domain in the United States: published before 1931.
Transcribed from the page image and checked against the original; spelling and punctuation are as printed, and words broken across lines are rejoined. Capital letters are also as printed: papers set the first words of each ad in capitals.
